PAYING GOOD FOR GOOD. BY HON. GABE UGOR

TO THE MAN, JOE AGI. THE RIGHT TIME TO REPAY GOOD FOR GOOD.  Sometimes back in year 2010, one of the toughest primaries was held to pick the Chairmanship candidate to fly the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Yala Local Government Council.  Yala was polarized with two powerful political factions. On one side, was Hon Gabe Ugor (Yache Ward) as aspirant and Mr. Godwin Odama (Gabu Ward) on the second divide. The magnitude of the preparation for the primary election was so tensed that the entire Yala LGA was frozen below zero degrees. It wouldn't be necessary to mention the names of the political heavyweights supporting these aspirants then but of importance, was simply the fear of uncertainty and anticipated violence that gripped Yala LGA. Indeed, many political pundits described it as the "Clash of the Titans).  However, with the tensed atmosphere then, the primary election venue was shifted to Calabar for fear of violence Yala was known for in the time past.  At

BE LED BY YOUR CONSCIENCE. BY JOE AGI (SAN) SENATE 2020

CR-Northern District: Joe AGi SAN hereby appeals to your conscience.  Recent announcement by Inec on the date for the conduct of the senatorial election has inspired progressives across the senatorial district to run for office. It’s incredibly exciting, but also requires a well thought out plan. We had embarked upon consultations and consciously created an awareness about the promises of assured development that Joe Agi SAN can attract to our district. We examined the prospect and indicated the possibility of utilizing such realistic capability to make

Cross River State Northern Senatorial District: Joe Agi SAN shall be accountable to the Constituent. The upper chamber of Legislation , in which each state has three representatives regardless of population size, with 109 senators in total is influential chamber. Senators serve four-year terms and their mandate is often as a consequence of the political influence of the constituents. Through the electoral process, they seek the political supports and votes of their constituents to represent them in the Red Chambers.  The constituent is the “Voters” in a legislative district. We are not unmindful of the role of the coalition (An alliance of political groups pursuing a common goal). Their choice always counts. As fundamental as their roles in making the election of the Senator successful, most of our Senators relegate them to the background when elected to serve. Others treat them with ignominy. This is not fair. The presumed right of the people to instruct their elected representative
