Buhari Appoints New Service Chiefs

 

BREAKING: President Buhari Replaces Service Chiefs

 According to reports from Channels News Media:

President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs and appointed new officers as replacements.

The new Service Chiefs are: Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

This was announced on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina who noted that the service chiefs have also retired from service.

Those involved are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

President Buhari appreciated the outgoing Service Chiefs for what he calls their “overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to our dear country,” wishing them well in their future endeavours.

He congratulated the new Service Chiefs and urged them to be loyal and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.

  1. It's very unfortunate that this retirement is coming at a time that so many lives have been lost as a result their cosmetic approach & ineptitude towards security issues. Nigerians should ensure that they are well investigated before their PULLING OUT PARADE.

The Federal government has begun payment of stipends to all  graduates and non-graduates  across the nation, the finance minister stated during the Youth Empowerment Summit chaired by President Buhari. This was disclosed in a statement released by the Special Assistant to Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun. The empowerment which will be sponsored by the FG and the Emirate Bank. According to the statement, some of the states have already been funded and the participants will starts to receive bank alerts through the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) after application process. He also stated that over 700,000 beneficiaries of the N-Power programme, close to 50% of the graduates, have now been physically verified, and started receiving their monthly stipends of N30,000 over the previous months.
